Copy Cat?

I just found a store with an almost identical name to mine.

My store : WickedlyGood

Their store: WickedlyGoods

I wrote an email to Etsy admin, here it is;


Dear Etsy,

Just recently, when I used the seller username search, I came across another Etsy seller named WickedlyGoods, my shop name is WickedlyGood. This shop was opened on April 12 '09, mine was opened on March 21 '09. The new store appears to be empty. I am concerned about this because it is (1) letter different than my shop name. I think this can lead to much confusion and I also feel hesitant to advertise because I could be driving traffic to their shop instead of mine.

I realize there are many similar shop names on Etsy, I do think there should be a policy on (1 ) letter shop name differences. Sadly, many sellers do copy other sellers work on Etsy, do we need to be concerned about others copying our store names too?

Free Pendant Give Away!

Ok here it is! Get an absolutely free pendant from me! I will pay for postage as well!

These are the rules:

1. You must be a jewelry designer.

2. You must have a blog with some followers.

3. When you receive the pendant you need to incorporate it into one of your jewelry designs.

4. Within a reasonable amount of time you need to post pictures of your design with my pendant on your blog and credit my Etsy store. (Two month maximum time limit from receipt of pendant).

It is a possibility that I can get your design published in a bead magazine. I will certainly submit your designs. You will be credited as the designer, I will only be listed as the source of the pendant. Please have available all of your sources for your jewelry design, you do not need to publish this on the blog. If your design is accepted for publication you will need to send it directly to the publisher, they will keep it for several months and return it to you. I will contact you for the images to send to the publisher. This is a win-win situation, you will get credit as the designer with a possible listing of your store, I get the source credit for the pendant.

One of my jewelry designs is going to be published in the July '09 issue of BeadStyle magazine, they have also posted my designs to their website.

This give-away is on a first come first served basis. I reserve the right to decide who gets the pendants, sorry, but hey this is free. Please list the top 3 choices that you would like to receive. Please don't get mad at me if you don't get a pendant, I am incurring all of the costs.

Your jewelry that you design will be yours to do whatever you want with it, you may sell it or keep it! Just don't list it too soon in case we can get it published!

Free Pendants to Jewelry Designers and Authors!

I'm thinking of running a promotion to Jewelry Designers and Authors. I will send a free pendant at no cost to any jewelry designer or author. In return, I ask that they design a piece of jewelry using my pendant and they post the pictures and mention my Etsy store in their blog.

Marketing Help

Hi all,

I'm going to be attending the Bead and Button Show in Milwuakee Wisc. in June. I really would like to have some wonderful post cards or business cards to hand out at the show promoting my ceramic pendant business. Please post a comment if your interested and your price quotes.
